Gadgets Programming Experience
Digital Gadgets are always an obsession for me. I owned gadgets and mobile phones with Palm, Symbian and Linux as building platforms. Starting from Ericsson A780 to Apple iPhone, I tested out large number of devices – most of it on its technology side. I was always curious to develop and deploy customised applications on all these devices, few of such attempts were really succesful and I enjoyed working as a gadget programmer for different flavors of technology platforms.
Here is a table with some of the interesting devices that I have programmed in last 4 or 5 years :
For all these devices, platforms were really different and every one of it had its own SDK. But, today we have softwares from companies like REAL SOftware (REAL Basic) and Appforge (Appforge VB, now part of Oracle) that can be used for programming many devices without worrying much about the underlying hardware or OS. Both of these IDEs are more or less similar to Visual Basic and with my VB development experience, most of the devices can be quickly programmed.
