I’ve been a programmer for over 9 years (Today I am completing 9 years in IT industry) now, and I’ve read a lot of programming related books in order to improve my skills and keep up with technology. The company where I work– once apon a time India’s 4th largest IT company — is aggressively pursuing layoffs. Past few years company was hot favourite of Americans and Europeans – They used to say :”this code is so boring, I’d pay Indians myself to write it”.  That’s how indian service companies became so rich and reached the zen of software export.  But, today things are very different. Have you ever gotten that classic job interview question, “where do you see yourself in five years?” The “where do you see yourself in five years” question is sort of glib, and most people have a pat answer they give to interviewers.
